I want to be a surrogate mother

Become a surrogate mother. Many women think: “I want to be a surrogate mother.” Helping a childless couple is commendable, but you need to be mentally prepared to let go of your baby, who has lived in your tummy for nine whole months and brought you many sleepless nights.

You must be fully aware that a surrogate mother is not someone who will stay with her child for many years, remember this. Of course, you will feel affection for this little creature and will no doubt always be there for him at first. Also be prepared to face reality. Genetically, your child will remain with other parents for life, so the decision to become a surrogate mother should be balanced and thought out in detail.

Not every woman can become a surrogate mother and help a childless family find parental happiness. The law requires certain requirements that a potential candidate must meet before participating in a surrogacy program.

A surrogate mother can be a woman who meets the following criteria:

  • the candidate must have at least one healthy child;
  • there should be no somatic and mental diseases that are contraindications for pregnancy and childbirth;
  • the candidate must not have a uterine body length of less than 35 mm;
  • the candidate must not have acute inflammatory diseases of any localization at the beginning of ART;
  • the candidate must not have congenital defects or acquired deformities of the uterine cavity, in which embryo implantation (EH) and pregnancy cannot be carried out;
  • the candidate must not have benign tumors of the uterus that deform the uterus and (or) require surgical treatment;
  • the candidate must not have malignant neoplasms of any localization (extraction of gametes is allowed to preserve reproductive potential).

There are the following conditions for becoming a surrogate mother in Ukraine:

We are ready to perform IVF for a woman who has previously undergone a Сaesarean section, but only if she does not have a scar on the uterus.

The gynecologist will conduct both a general and a special examination aimed at studying the reproductive function. A mammologist should conduct an ultrasound of the mammary glands within 5-11 days before the start of the menstrual cycle. It is necessary to examine the ultrasound of the organ in the small pelvis.
